You want to read more to make sure that Medium is worth it?

When I discovered Medium, I was like someone who discovered a big box with a lot of gold in it. I loved it so much.

I love reading, finding out that I am allowed only to read 3 stories a month was so disappointing to me. To read an unlimited number of articles you need to become a Medium member.

I wasn’t sure that I’ll like it and that I’ll read every day to become a member. So I cheated, and read whatever I want without being a member at the beginning.

So in this article, I am going to explain two things:

Here is what I did:

It’s your cookies who blocs you, not the ones we eat but web cookies xD. The trick is about emptying your cookies each time it reaches 3 stories in Medium (In fact I did the same trick too to read Harvard Business Review articles.

How it concretely works?

You have next to the browser URL a lock icon 🔒. This Icon will help you access to the cookies we talked about earlier and remove Medium cookies.

Click on the cookies to see the ones in use:

Select the website cookies that you viewed recently, Medium or other websites, and click remove. Then click done.

Refresh your page and you will have access again to 3 stories. Of course, you need to repeat the procedure when you finish the 3 stories. It’s not a solution for once and all, but still, you can read more than 3 stories ^^.

Is Medium worth it?

First, what’s Medium?

Medium is a social publishing platform. It’s open to anyone and you can publish stories about whatever you want, you need only to make sure that you respect Medium policies.

People write their ideas, perspectives, and experiences. What makes it powerful is the network. People are sharing their knowledge and the content is valuable.

For me, I think that Medium keeps me updated and helps me getting valuable information quickly as I’m often busy. What’s even wonderful is that I can share my knowledge too and keep others updated.
